The individual pattern element (left) is based on the belladonna plant. You might also know this plant by the name of "deadly nightshade."
This pattern was created for the background of my piece, "It's Time." The carved wood belladonna plant can also be seen winding around the the main element of the piece, a cuckoo clock. With death a central theme of this piece, the wallpaper is a nod to the era of wallpaper when arsenic was heavily used to create vibrant and deadly greens. It is also the subtly implied cause of death in the slice-of-life snapshot presented in "It's Time." The moisture causing the rents in the wallpaper would also cause the arsenic in the wallpaper to become airborne.
